The orchard, which includes peaches, pears, nectarines, and apples, has been certified GLOBALG.A.P. beginning in 2012. In 2015 all crops; hops, mint, wheat, dill, orchard became certified excluding the vineyard.
GLOBALG.A.P.: GLOBALG.A.P. is a standard, audited annually by third party groups, used world-wide, which encompasses all aspects of crop growing and harvesting. Not only does it ensure crops are grown in an environmentally safe and hygienic manner, it also ensures employee safety and wellbeing. Compliance criteria is routinely updated to keep abreast of food safety standards, best employee health and safety practices, and environmentally responsible standards. Salmon Safe Certification was awarded to the whole farm in 2015. excluding the vineyard.
Salmon Safe: Salmon Safe is an organization, whose standards were developed with the help of biologists, agronomists, and farmers, working towards preserving and restoring West Coast watersheds for native salmon to spawn in. Their goal is to transform land management practices across the Pacific Northwest by encouraging farmers to adopt ecologically sustainable agricultural practices that protect the natural ecosystem. Six primary management practices are evaluated: riparian area management, water use management, erosion and sediment control, integrated pest management (IPM) and water quality protection, animal management, and biodiversity control. In 2015, Kosher Certification for all crops was achieved excluding the vineyard.
Kosher: Kosher definition: (of food, or premises in which food is sold, cooked, or eaten) satisfying the requirements of Jewish law. All of our products are certified Kosher Parve under the supervision of the Va’ad HaRabanim of Greater Seattle (this certification excludes Passover). They are not guaranteed to be kosher by the time they reach the consumer. In order for them to be kosher at the time they reach the consumer, they must be handled by a certified kosher warehouse/processor/restaurant/brewery/etc. Our products are certified only in the original sealed packaging.
